HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Hello everyone! Merry Christmas and Happy new year from The Customer in Naija Blog! Yes we all know its a drag trying to crack up a smile in the recent ongoing fuel crisis(hmm.. I'm sensing a theme here as it was same last year!) but we still have many things to be thankful for. Many battles won and milestones reached! So if you are stuck at home with no fuel to take you in your Car frolicking, may be you should try switch it up this year.. movies indoors with family/ friends or visit a bar quite close to home Come on guys! Nothing is going to spoil our festive season celebrations!! See you in the new year!! Much love, Rachael for The Customer In Naija Blog 💖💖😁

UBER DRAMA

It's with mixed feelings of disgust and anger that I recount my most recent horrendous experience with UBER The driver had picked me up from my office and before we left, he had checked his bonnet over and over again and I asked if all was good and he said all good Halfway through our journey, the vehicle packed up and he proceeded to call his mechanic and requested I pay the bill for the journey so far. I was so upset that I was going to miss my meeting and told him point blank I would not pay and would have to settle the issue with UBER. To my dismay, he matched my anger with anger and a very unapologetic attitude almost eager to engage in a fist fight if I had provoked him further. Dear readers, I had to involve the police who were luckily parked close by. In the end, the police escorted me to take a cab and although I chose to comply to pay the UBER driver off for the journey so far, he said he didn't want the money. I left with a promise to report the matter to U...

JUMIA MESS

Tell me why oh why does everything in Nigeria eventually turn to a big mess! and I'm talking services here. My plight today is regarding the disappointing service I received at Jumia over an item I thought I'd bought over a price slash deal. The dispatch rider never delivered the item and when I insisted on visiting the delivery center, I was gobsmacked to be told the item had gone past the pick up/ deliver date and my order had been cancelled The center was a mess by the way.. dirty and full of unruly disconnected staff and i just pondered why is every business in Nigeria suffering from horrid customer service culture? Is it the pay, the way they are treated by employers? What is it? I left disappointed and had to reorder the item.. hopefully I'll get the item this time around!

MISLEADING THE CUTOMER..

Okay hands up if you have ever sold a client a product he didn't need in a bid to make sales! lol.. we have all done it :) but it really sucks when it happens to you as a client. I had my own annoying experience over the weekend when i visited a phone shop to find out why my storage space was filled up and why i couldn't down load anymore apps from Play store First of all the rep was distracted by her baby crying and tried to juggle that with attending to me and another client at the same time.. She finally recommended I buy a micro SD Card which I had to buy with another SD Card i didn't need. She even had the nerve to ask me to give her the other SD Card if i didn't need it. Whattttt!!! That was annoying enough only to get home and find out I really didn't need to buy any additional storage SD card. I only needed to clear my CACHE!! Any more annoying misleading stories guys from sales reps or horrible customer service stories! Do Share!!!

HAPPY EASTER CELEBRATIONS!

Hah yes! The magical season is here again! Time to be merry and have loads of fun with people you care about It's also a great time for owners of recreational businesses to make wads of cash and stand out with great service So let's keep burning the torch for great service and enjoy the holidays! Happy easter celebrations!

GOING THE EXTRA MILE!

We hear it all the time folks! But what does it really mean.. I'll narrate an experience :) My family regularly buys water from a truck distributor and while driving to work the other day, the truck owner was so brusque and outlandish to me that I had to wonder: 1. Doesn't he care he is being rude to a regular customer? He clearly didn't know the meaning of "the little things" that keep customers your advocates.. Lesson of the day?.. Always remember customer service is that extra mile to be kind to your clients even when you aren't trying to sell!

Customer Service from Nigerian Security men! No Way!

Yes way! I was so shocked by my experience and in a good way! I was looking for a company and thought I had gotten to the company and the security man on duty was so polite. He offered me directions and wait for it! He literally got into my Car and took me all he way to the company i was looking for within the estate without asking for you guys know what! Now if that's not going the extra mile,  don't know what is! It all starts from within folks! Customer service will come to us naturally when we all care!

TRAVEL ON A BUDGET THIS EASTER!

Hiya guys! With Easter round the corner and travel plans on the mind's of some, a travel budget doesn't have to empty your account! and with the lingering dollar/pound/euro spike, everyone is thinking twice about taking the family overseas for the Easter There's great news though! From my personal experience, there are still cheap flight tickets with fair enough service and good food. I personally was pleasantly surprised with the great service from Ethiopian airlines en route Lagos to London. The only catch! Most of the cheaper fares have stop offers so bear that in mind. Happy shopping!

TELL US WHO WINS!

Yes! UBER has got competition with Taxify now in Nigeria. Both are mobile apps used to conveniently use cabbys! Do tell us your experience with Uber or Taxify Rate please on complete customer experience such as customer service and engagement!
